How Core works

How Core works for schools and families: families apply and enroll online, admins review and approve, and payments, grades, attendance and records stay in one place all year.

   A family applies online

   A parent creates an account, finds the school, and works through the school's registration steps — the forms, waivers, document uploads and fees that school actually requires. Progress is saved as they go, so an application can be finished later without starting over.

2. 02

   An admin reviews and approves

   Applications land in one queue with everything attached. An admin can see what is outstanding, add private notes, waive a fee, and approve when the family is ready. Approval is what opens up the rest of the school to that family.

   Students enroll in classes

   Families browse the class catalog and enroll their students, or admins assign classes directly. Classes can be limited by grade, capped by seat count, and priced individually.

   Payments are handled online

   Enrollment and course fees are paid by card through Stripe. Schools that take cash or checks can record those payments manually so every payment shows up in the same ledger.

5. 05

   Teachers run the year

   Teachers post homework, enter grades, take daily attendance and log behavior notes for the classes they teach. Families see their own students' work, grades and attendance as it is recorded.

6. 06

   Records carry forward

   When the school closes out a year, that year is archived — student and medical details, classes, grades, attendance and behavior notes — and the workspace is cleared for the new year. Schools keep the full history, and families can be given access to their own students' archived years.
