What is Core?
Core is web-based school management software. It handles online registration, class enrollment, school fee payments, grades, attendance and student records for a school, in one system that admins, teachers and families all sign in to.
Who is Core for?
Small schools, homeschool co-ops, micro-schools and similar communities that need real registration and record-keeping but not a large enterprise student information system.
How do families register for a school?
A parent creates an account, finds their school, and completes the registration steps that school requires — forms, signatures, document uploads and any fees. An admin reviews the application and approves it, which opens up classes, grades and the rest of the school to that family.
How are payments handled?
Card payments are processed through Stripe for enrollment and per-course fees. Schools that also take cash or checks can record those payments manually so everything appears in one ledger.
What can parents see?
Parents see their own students and nothing about anyone else's. That covers their students' classes, homework, grades, attendance, behavior notes and payment history. Each school also controls, per role, which sections are visible at all.
What happens to records at the end of a school year?
When a school closes out a year, that year is archived — student and medical details, classes, grades, every attendance day and behavior notes — and the live workspace is cleared for the new year. The school keeps the full history, and families can be given access to their own students' archived years.
Can teachers see every student in the school?
No. A teacher sees the students enrolled in the classes they teach, and enters homework, grades, attendance and behavior notes for those classes. Full access across the school belongs to admins.
Do all schools get the same features?
No. Optional capabilities are switched on per school and start switched off, so adding a capability to Core never changes what an existing school sees until that school turns it on.
